Frozen Coconut & Watermelon Dog Treats Recipe

Watermelons Contain 92% Water And Very Little Sugar So They Are Great For Hydration During Hot Days. My Frozen Coconut Oil & Watermelon Dog Treats Make A Great Homemade Treat For Summer Heat!
Prep Time 5 mins
Cook Time 5 mins
Freezing Time 2 hrs
Total Time 2 hrs 10 mins
Servings 12 Treats

Ingredients

  • Silicone Mold
  • Plain Greek Yogurt – 5.3 Oz
  • 2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil Refined
  • 5 Cups Freshly Chopped Watermelon. I Used 1/2 Of Large Seedless Watermelon.
  • A Blender

Instructions

  • Cut The Seedless Watermelon Into Cubes Of 1-2 Inches.
  • Blend Watermelon, Greek Yogurt And Refined Coconut Oil In A Blender.
  • Blend For One Minute, Or Until All Ingredients Have Been Combined. This Will Make A Pink Soup.
  • Place The Liquid In Silicone Ice Cube Molds And Freeze For At Least 2 Hours Until Set. Pro Tip: Because Silicone Trays Are Fragile, I Prefer To Place My Silicon On A Cookie Sheet. Then I Pour The Liquid. It Is Easier To Transport The Silicone Tray Into The Freezer If It Is On A Sturdy Tray.
  • Treat Your Dog By Taking Out The Tray! Keep Treats In An Airtight Container In Your Freezer.
  • They Can Get Messy So You Should Give Them Outside. These Treats Are Small Popsicles, Just Like The Ones We Used To Eat As Children. They Melt Quickly And Can Cause A Mess. To Prevent Heatstroke, I Make Them And Give Them Kenzo + Vik. You Can Find A Complete Post Here About Keeping Dogs Cool In The Summer.

Notes

It Is Important To Give Your Dog Only The Seedless Variety. Do Not Allow Them To Eat The Rind.
